The answer to my questioning poem came to me in chat,
You said I already knew, and that was simply that,
A new direction came to life, heartfelt, mutually,
A way out of all the strife, accepted, naturally.
You said you have a life, and so do I,
But neither of us could say goodbye,
Others need us where we are,
But LOVE is still our Guiding Star.
Our paradigm is unorthodox, and lessons never end,
We didn't want to rock the boat,
But we are more than friends,
We bound ourselves to a Strange New World,
Online, our flags unfurled.
And now we vow til the end of our days,
To be together in this way,
Our familiar LDR, Loving from afar,
Now becomes our way of life,
And I become your internet wife.
Now we may never know, just what might have been,
The dream of physicality, a once-hoped-for reality,
Has transmuted suddenly,
But we are still more than friends,
With love and passion that never ends.
